At Legacy School, our alumni are not just graduates, they are walking brand pillars who carry forward the values, mindset, and confidence nurtured during their time with us. Their journeys beyond school highlight the lasting impact of a Legacy education.
One such story is that of Vriddhi Brahma, Class of 2023, who reflects on how Legacy shaped her transition into university life at King’s College London and helped her discover the kind of learner, and individual she wanted to become.
Crossing the Bridge to an International Curriculum
Vriddhi began her academic journey in the ICSE curriculum. When she realised her aspirations to pursue higher education abroad, she knew she needed to shift to an international programme such as AS/A Levels or the IB Diploma Programme – both of which are offered at Legacy.
The move to IB felt daunting. Coming from a system rooted in memorisation, suddenly being asked to apply concepts, think critically, and engage deeply with ideas was overwhelming.
But according to Vriddhi, Legacy made that transition smooth and empowering.
“This bridge that I had to cross was made so easy to walk because of Legacy.”
Small class sizes became a defining support system. Moving from classrooms of 50+ students to a close-knit cohort gave her room to grow. With personalised attention, constructive feedback, and teachers who knew her learning style, she found herself improving quickly, and visibly.
A Space to Lead, Explore, and Build Confidence
Beyond academics, Legacy offered Vriddhi a platform to take initiative in areas she was passionate about.
Whether it was leading Techlage, contributing to the Sports Day cheer and jingle, or taking charge in school initiatives, she found opportunities to lead and create outcomes she didn’t know she was capable of.
“Legacy was a space that gave me opportunities and confidence to lead and take initiative, even in places I didn’t know I could.”
She also fondly remembers the patience, support, and encouragement she received from every member of the organisation, something that made her journey not just academically enriching, but personally transformative.
Becoming a Thinker With a Voice
Vriddhi believes that one of the most defining aspects of her Legacy experience was the emphasis on analytical thinking. Through coursework, thoughtful discussions, and debates with peers, she learned to shape her opinions, articulate them confidently, and understand her own perspectives better.
“Legacy has definitely made me more opinionated, in a positive way, and helped me discover more about myself.”
These skills became foundational as she stepped into university life at King’s, where independent thought, self-awareness, and critical inquiry are essential.
More than anything, Legacy gave Vriddhi memories she continues to cherish:
“Mostly, it has given me memories for a lifetime and a reason to smile on a dull (and lazy) Monday morning.”
Her journey is a testament to the transformative power of holistic education we provide at Legacy. one that nurtures the mind, heart, and spirit.
With inputs from Vriddhi Brahma, Class of 2023. Currently pursuing her academic journey at King’s College London, she continues to carry the spirit of a Legacy learner, curious, reflective, and ready to take on the world.
