Vidyaniketan Montessori
In 1984, Vidyaniketan Montessori was founded with the mission of being a unique neighborhood pre-school that offered an international, pre-primary curriculum. The school was first established in a quaint British bungalow in Richards Town in East Bangalore. It remains true to its roots, and continues to operate as a neighborhood pre-school that provides pre-primary education to children in the 2 to 6 years age group.

2004
Formation of the Trust
On the 20th anniversary celebrations of Vidyaniketan Montessori School, Mrs. Priti Sait and Mr. Sanjay Udani joined hands as Trustees to establish the Vidyaniketan Education Trust as a not-for-profit organization in 2004.
Founding of Vidyaniketan Academy Building further upon the mission of our Montessori, Vidyaniketan Academy was founded as an inclusive school; one that offered an international curriculum (International GCSE & GCE – UK) to mainstream students and also included a center for learning challenges. The main stream education was provided to children across Pre-Nursery to Grade 10 (Ages of 2- 16) and a school-like experience for children that were diagnosed with specific and severe learning challenges (Ages 7 -16). A unique curriculum, small class sizes and individual attention came to define Vidyaniketan Academy and gave it the impetus to grow.

2009
New Trustees Join
Vidyaniketan Academy lost a vital portion of its campus to road widening for the international airport link road and this compelled the Trustees to identify and move to a new campus, as the school could no longer continue to function effectively on a campus that was shrinking as the school was growing. In 2009, Mr. B.H. Krishnamurthy and Mr. Sanjay Shenoy believed in the vision of the school and were co-opted as Joint Trustees to help support the advancement of the School.
