Cambridge Lower Secondary (Grades 6 to 8)

At Legacy School, the Cambridge International Lower Secondary Curriculum provides a learning pathway to students enrolled in Grades 6-8 (ages 11-14). It combines a world-class curriculum, high-quality support for teachers and integrated assessment.

There is a curriculum framework for each subject – English, mathematics, and science – providing a clear teaching structure. We use integrated assessments to monitor learners’ progress.

The curriculum also offers a seamless progression to the Cambridge IGCSE for Grades 9 & 10.

As Primary students advance into the Middle School, it is a difficult phase for them as they develop into young adolescents. It is an important period of transition that is marked with increased independence and more rigorous expectations for their learning that requires greater responsibility.

The progressive teaching and learning process continues to shift even further from a teacher-led class to a more student-led approach, where teachers take on the role of facilitators who advance learning by helping students interact actively, building upon their existing knowledge and continuing to develop their critical thinking, problem-solving, collaboration and communication skills.

Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint

Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint is a diagnostic testing service that helps learners by giving comprehensive feedback on their strengths and weaknesses in each subject area.

Our learners take Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint tests at the end of Cambridge Lower Secondary. The tests are marked in Cambridge and each learner receives a statement of achievement and a diagnostic report.
