The Joy of Sharing: How Legacy Fosters a Culture of Giving

At Legacy, we nurture learners who look beyond themselves. The Joy of Sharing, an annual initiative led by the Legacy Student Council, is more than just a tradition, it is a reflection of the values we hold close as a community.

Each year, Joy of Sharing Week is organised towards the end of the academic calendar as a donation drive supporting the underprivileged. Rooted in the true spirit of Christmas, the initiative serves as a gentle yet powerful reminder that the season is about compassion, generosity, and love beyond ourselves.

This year, contributions were thoughtfully distributed by our 11 IB students and the Student Council to Jordan High School, a subsection of Manna, supporting students with developmental disabilities and their everyday needs. In addition, essential supplies such as blankets and pillows were donated to Air Humanitarian, an organisation dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating the homeless, the abandoned, and the ailing poor.

More than gifts or celebrations, Christmas is about empathy, selflessness, and the quiet joy of giving without expecting anything in return. The true spirit of the season lives not in decorations or festivities, but in acts of kindness that bring light into someone else’s life, a joy worth carrying forward.

Why Joy of Sharing?

At Legacy, encouraging our learners to be mindful in their actions and words lies at the heart of our philosophy. To be open-minded and progressive is to understand the importance of looking beyond ourselves, not just within.

We believe that education goes far beyond academic achievement. As one of the top international schools in Bangalore, Legacy is committed to nurturing well-rounded individuals, learners who are self-aware, compassionate, and socially responsible. Initiatives like Joy of Sharing provide meaningful experiences that help our students grow not just in knowledge, but in humanity.
