About Legacy Cares

Gandhiji said,
"The greatness of humanity is not in being human, but in being humane"

What we are experiencing now is one of the most challenging humanitarian crises of our time with COVID19 - one where the world has come to a standstill, compelling people into isolation, forcing nations into lockdown and bringing humanity to its knees.

And so, it is at such unprecedented and unpredictable times that we look to inspirational leaders like 'The Mahatma' for motivation and hope; whose powerful words still continue to be a voice of reason, and a force that guides and unites us. While COVID-19 may have forced us to stay apart as people, it is the very same thing that has brought us closer together as mankind.

In our society, almost all of us who can read and access this are privileged and predominantly find ourselves safe in the comfort of our own homes, in the company of our loved ones, with food on our tables, access to our essential needs and services beyond. With the ability to remain connected to the world online, most of us are able to secure our livelihoods by continuing to work and learn from home, and continue to take care of our families. The story is quite the opposite for a large percentage of the people in our country. There are millions of people who are helpless, hungry, isolated from their homes and loved ones, and who are unable to even meet their basic needs to survive – access to clean drinking water, food, shelter and health care. One of the most severely affected groups of people are the community of migrant labour and daily wage earners.

As a community, Legacy School has always been active in responding to natural disasters and humanitarian crises in the past – at local, national and global levels. To reach out in aid of these people who are among the most severely at risk, and who are left vulnerable to fend for themselves without access to any resources and means, the community of Legacy School is pleased to partner with GOONJ to help extend our care and support for their well-being. Goonj is a 20-year old non-governmental organisation headquartered in Delhi, which undertakes disaster relief, provides humanitarian aid and impacts community development in parts of 23 states across India

Education for Impact

As a progressive international school, Legacy School engages all of its learners across the entire school, ages 3 – 18, in the study of Global Perspectives in an effort to imbibe in our children the values and skills associated with responsible citizenship. Our programs are designed in alignment with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UNSDG) and through this initiative we are striving to make a positive impact across multiple goals – specifically:

Legacy Cares, and we know you do too!

We believe in the possibility and dream of a more united, sustainable and equitable future for mankind.
